  • Location Address, Parking, and Entrance: Parking is dependent upon the location of your volunteer opportunity. Prior to your volunteer opportunity, please read the confirmation email that was sent to you for additional important information. Please refer to the information below in regards to the location of your volunteer opportunity and where you should park.

Indianapolis locations:

Winter Contingency Support @ Cornerstone Lutheran Church
  • Address: 2837 East New York Street, 46201. New York Street is one-way heading east. Cornerstone Lutheran is a stone church located on the south (right) side of the road after Rural Street.
  • Parking:  Parking is located on the west side of the church. The entrance to the parking lot is directly before you get to the church. Enter the first set of red doors on New York Street. Staff will be there to greet you, train you, and get you started!
Administrative Building
  • Address: 205 East New York Street, 46204 at the corner of Delaware and New York Streets. Their phone number is 317.635.3575.
  • Parking: Due to this location being directly downtown, our lot is very small and barely has enough room for staff and ministry vehicles. Please use metered parking on New York, Delaware, or other surrounding streets during business hours (Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5PM). At this time, $1.50 equates to 1 hour of parking (Monday-Saturday, 7AM-9PM / accepts change, cash, and card). Volunteers serving after 5PM or on the weekends may park in our lot, which is located directly behind the building off of New York Street. Enter the doors on New York Street. Please sign in at the Front Desk directly inside the building. Let them know how you are serving, and they will direct you from there.

Center for Women & Children
  • Address: 3208 East Michigan Street, 46201 at the corner of Michigan and LaSalle Streets. This location is 10 stories high, so it towers in comparison to neighboring buildings. Michigan Street is one-way heading west. Their phone number is 317.687.3630.
  • Parking & Entrance:
    • Wheeler owns the gated lot across the street at the southwest corner of Michigan and LaSalle Streets. The gate code is ‘2007’ and the pedestrian entry/exit gate is located near Michigan Street, facing the playground.
      • To get into the building, there is a “people gate” along the fence directly next to the Center. Although there is a keypad, this gate is never locked, so just pull and enter!
    • Since our gated parking lot next to the building is very small and barely has room for staff and ministry vehicles, please park at one of the options above! This lot can be used after 5PM and on the weekends. You will have to buzz in at the gate so staff can open it.
    • Enter the Center through the main doors, located on the east side of the building under the black awning.
    • Check-in at the Front Desk directly inside the building. Let them know how you are serving and they will direct you from there. It is very important all volunteers sign in and out on the Sign-In Sheets, which are located at the Front Desk.

Men’s Residential Center

  • Parking & Entrance (Monday-Friday during business hours: 9AM-5PM):

    • Due to this location being directly downtown, our lot is very small and does not have enough room for staff and ministry vehicles – we apologize for any inconvenience. Unauthorized vehicles will be towed.
    • Enter the southernmost doors on Delaware Street (3rd set of doors for those walking south on Delaware). Check-in at the Front Desk directly inside the building. Let them know how you are serving and they will direct you from there. It is very important all volunteers sign in and out on the Sign-In Sheets, which are located at the Front Desk.

  • Parking & Entrance (Weeknights after 5PM and Weekends):
      • Since you are volunteering after regular business hours (Monday-Friday from 8:30AM-5PM), parking may be available directly behind the east side of the Mission in the small lot off of New York Street.
        • This lot extends from the east side of the building to the Hudson Street alley and south to the brick drive area.
        • You are in the correct lot if your vehicle is pointing east or west – facing the Mission or Hudson Street.
        • We are not liable for ticketed or towed vehicles parked in a neighboring city lot.
      • Metered parking is available on New York & Delaware Streets; at this time, $1.50 equates to 1 hour of parking (Monday through Saturday, 9AM-8PM / accepts credit cards and change)
      • Enter the southernmost doors on Delaware Street (3rd set of doors for those walking south on Delaware). Check-in at the Front Desk directly inside the building. • Wheeler rents 15 parking spots in the gravel parking lot located just east of the Shelter for Men building on the northwest corner of Market Street and Park Avenue. The entrance to this lot is on Market Street.
    • If parking is not available in this lot, metered parking is available on Market and East Streets, generally $1.00 is 1 hour of parking (accepts credit cards and change).
      • During business hours (Monday – Friday, 8AM-5PM), the small parking lot located directly in front of the Shelter is reserved for staff and ministry vehicles. If you are volunteering after those hours, please feel free to park in this area. We apologize for any inconvenience.
    • Enter the Volunteer Entrance Door 2, which is located on Market Street. Ring the doorbell as these doors are locked at all times; someone is generally nearby to let you in. Let them know how you are volunteering and they will direct you from there!
      • If you are not able to enter through this set of doors, please walk around to Door 1, which is the next door to the west. Check-in at the Front Desk directly inside the building.
