Christmas can be an intensely difficult time when you’re homeless and/or battling addiction. The season of “good news and great joy” can be overshadowed by loneliness, overwhelming circumstances, and crushing disappointment.
So when guests arrive at Wheeler Mission, we pull out all the stops to provide community, warmth, joy, and wonder each Christmas!
A Winter Wonderland!
One of our favorite traditions at the Center for Women & Children in Indianapolis is our annual Christmas Decorating Contest!
This year, our residents worked hard to decorate their rooms and floors in order to spread Christmas cheer to one another, our staff, volunteers, and friends of Wheeler! There was even a Polar Express for the kiddos, lots of desserts and snacks, awards, and a time of carol singing.
