The Colts have stepped up! Will YOU?

Many thanks to the Colts and the Irsay family  for their $100,000 contribution for our Building for Change Campaign. Their leadership and financial support helps us as we work to expand our Center for Women & Children in Indianapolis.

A crisis in Indianapolis

The streets are NO place for women and children. But every day, more than a hundred families in our city don’t have a safe place to sleep. Each month, Wheeler Mission’s Center for Women & Children in Indianapolis receives approximately 700 requests for beds and services that can’t be adequately fulfilled. We’re completely full.

Because we won’t turn anyone away, women and children regularly sleep on cots on our gym floor. But that’s no solution.

Instead, we’re #BuildingForChange, raising funds to expand our Center for Women & Children so we can serve hundreds more people every day…but we need the community’s help to make this possible!

The Colts are leading the way

Last week, Wheeler Mission and the Colts held a joint press conference, announcing a $100,000 gift from the Colts for our Center for Women & Children expansion.

Rick Alvis, President and CEO of Wheeler Mission, addresses the press and guests.

“We hope this gift will inspire other donors, businesses and organizations to join the Colts in expanding this center so that hundreds more women and children in need can be reached,” said Kalen (Irsay) Jackson, Colts vice chair and owner.

We can’t do it alone

Wheeler’s staff and guests are so encouraged by this gift! While it moves the needle closer and closer to our goal, we’ve still got a long way to go. We’re trusting that the community of Indianapolis will surround us in this effort, committing to serve our homeless neighbors.

The Colts have proudly stepped up with $100,000 for our Center for Women & Children expansion. Will YOU join them? Together, let’s make room for women and children! To learn more about and join our #BuildingForChange campaign, go here.
