Prayer. It’s what sustains us!
Do you ever look at Wheeler Mission, maybe scan our Facebook page, read our newsletters, catch some news coverage, and ask “How do they do so much?”
It’s true. Wheeler Mission is so special, a ministry sustained by God’s goodness and a community who’s chosen to come alongside us to serve our neighbors in desperate need. And a driving force behind that sustaining grace is prayer.
On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased. (Psalm 138:3, ESV)
Why We Pray.
At Wheeler Mission, we believe that through prayer, God provides deep change and renewal. We cover everything in prayer: our guests, staff and volunteers, the funds we raise, our programs, our buildings, the heavy decisions…the unthinkable blessings. We accomplish nothing when our vision isn’t aligned with God’s, so we earnestly seek Him and His will.
That the Lord your God may show us the way we should go, and the thing we should do. (Jeremiah 42:3, ESV)
A Prayer-focused Ministry.
Prayer is an integral part of Wheeler’s culture. Focused prayer, intentionally seeking God’s will, enables us to fulfill our mission: To see every man, woman, and child we serve equipped to be productive citizens who enjoy lasting success in Christ. That’s a heavy calling, and we can’t see it through without God’s guiding.
So we approach God daily…and we invite YOU to join us!
To this end we always pray for you, that our God may make you worthy of His calling and may fulfill every resolve for good and every work of faith by His power… (2. Thessalonians 1:11, ESV)

We are so blessed by the community’s prayers on our behalf for discernment, strength, and joy.
Will YOU partner with us in prayer?
By becoming a Prayer Partner, you join a community committed to regularly praying for Wheeler–our staff, volunteers, and courageous guests. Our Prayer Partners diligently seek the heart and will of God, as revealed in Scripture, and pray that it would be evident and fulfilled throughout Wheeler Mission.
Expectations.
We need men, women, and groups (Bible studies, students, friends, families) who know Jesus as their Savior to commit to pray for Wheeler Mission. Once every other week, specific Wheeler prayer requests are emailed to each individual or group. Partners agree to pray individually at least once a week, any time and place they choose. Groups are encouraged to gather and pray together at least once a month. At times, Prayer Partners may even tour a Wheeler site or meet together to share updates.
