Director of Food Services
This full-time position supervises and oversees all aspects of food service, food service staff, kitchens, equipment, and food storage facilities of Wheeler Mission. This person will be responsible for food service training and education for staff and volunteers. They will also be responsible for inventories at the Warehouse and at each site and will insure that our storage areas and food prep sites maintain standards in accordance with the Indiana Department of Health. Applicants must possess a minimum of an Associate’s degree in a related field, such as dietetics; food services management; hotel, restaurant, or institutional management; or human nutrition. Must possess comprehensive knowledge of food service management and be a certified food service handler with 4 years of work experience in food service management serving quantity meals. Must possess a valid Indiana Drivers license, be proficient in computer skills, and be knowledgeable of kitchen equipment and supplies. Children’s Ministry Assistant
This part-time position at our Center for Women & Children is responsible for helping to care for the children in the Children’s Ministry. Meeting daily needs, providing educational support, creating a fun and supportive learning environment are integral pieces of this position. Applicant must have experience with children and a desire to serve in a childcare setting. Must be able to pass criminal history check and CPS check. This person will help sort, hang, prepare, and price donated items in the warehouse for sale at our Thrift Store. This part-time position will also be responsible for maintaining their work area, helping to clean common areas, and may be asked to stock and help rotate items in the Thrift Store.
