Grant Writer

Our Development Department is seeking a full-time Grant Writer. This individual will identify, define, and develop funding sources to support existing and planned program activities, as well as coordinate the development, writing, and submission of grant proposals to third-party entities. This position is also responsible for collecting, analyzing, and reporting data on the performance of program activities that are funded by third-party sources. Candidates should possess clear and compelling written and verbal communication skills, an ability and desire to conduct detail-oriented research, interpersonal/human relations skills, and the ability to operate personal computer, with various software programs, work independently and manage time effectively, maintain accurate records, and maintain confidentiality. Should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree and have training and/or experience in one of the following areas: grant writing, technical writing, or fundraising. Seasonal Data Entry Specialist

Our Development Department is looking for a temporary, seasonal, part-time Data Entry Specialist for September through January. The successful candidate will work approximately 25 hours per week assisting the Data Entry Department recording seasonal giving and donations in the donor records data-base system.  Minimum Qualifications:  a. Must be comfortable in a homeless environment.  2. Must be able to work in a standard business office environment and be able to effectively keyboard information into computer data-based programs.  3. Must be a high school graduate.  4. Must possess basic computer skills and experience, general data entry experience or experience with Raiser’s Edge programs are a plus. Distribution Center Donation Coordinator

Our Distribution Center is looking for an individual to oversee donations that may include food, furniture, clothing, household goods, appliances, toys, books and other items. The will also respond to donor requests received via phone calls, emails and through the PickUpMyDonation.com website. Must work with the Distribution Center Manager to schedule pickups of donations at donor’s residences, businesses, donation barns, and shelters (Shelter for Men, Center for Women & Children, Men’s Residential Center) in a timely manner. Will assist the management team with the training and supervision of the production area personnel including employees, volunteers, and program workers on a daily basis to help maintain sufficient back stock of products for the Thrift Store. Must be highly organized, thorough, able to multi-task, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Must also be a self-starter, able to recognize donor needs and solutions. Should continually seek ways to improve the process of receiving donations to support the mission. Knowledgeable in online sales including EBay, Craig’s list, etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word). Must have a valid Indiana driver’s license and a minimum of a high school diploma or GED (Associates degree preferred).  Will have frequent holding and grasping with the hands when loading and unloading donations and frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. Must maintain good physical condition that will enable the employee to stoop, bend, twist, and perform other motions requiring strength and endurance when performing manual labor indoors or outdoors. Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust and dirt. Hours are mostly Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., but this individual must be willing to work a flexible schedule and some holidays when necessary.  Shelter for Men Case Manager

Our Shelter for Men is looking for a dedicated Christian man to fill a full-time case management position designed to help men in crisis situations by offering spiritual and emotional support while aiding the guest in their efforts to obtain independent living. This person must be able to multitask responsibilities while handling a large case load. This position requires that a person have good networking skills and the ability to effectively communicate the Gospel of Christ, our rules and regulations, and be a catalyst for hope to our guests. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in the field of social work or counseling is preferred or 5 years of relevant experience. Shelter for Men Cook

Our Shelter for Men is looking for a cook. This individual needs to be comfortable working in a fast paced environment and be capable of taking direction, understand instructions for preparing meals, prepping food and able to cook! Under the guidance of the Food Service manager, this person will supervise the preparation of the lunch and dinner meals for Emergency Service guests totaling up to 400 at any time. The cook needs to have the ability to interact with guests, program men, and volunteers in a way that encourages friendly interaction and loyalty, but at all times is done in a professional and servant hood manner. This person will be responsible to accept food donations and provide the necessary paperwork if required by the donor. This person will ensure that all receipts are turned into his supervisor on time and in order. This person also must be flexible with there schedule as necessary, however, a structured weekly schedule will be provided. Good driving record and license is preferable, but not a necessity for this position. Duties will also include cleaning and upkeep of all food service equipment and facility and as well as have good personal hygiene. This man should be active in his local church and growing spiritually, and a ServSafe Certification is a plus. Shelter for Men Weekend Guest Service Coordinator

Our Shelter for Men is looking for a weekend Guest Service Coordinator. This position’s responsibilities include check-in of all clients, maintaining the security of the building, enforcing rules and standards set in place to ensure a good atmosphere for clients, volunteers, and staff. This position requires that a person is willing to serve others and works well with other staff members. Someone able to teach the Word of God is preferred, as there are many counseling opportunities and occasional teaching opportunities afforded to this person. A high school diploma or GED is required and this person must be able to lift 40 pounds.
