Child Care Worker
Our Center for Women & Children is looking for a part-time child care worker. This temporary, seasonal position is responsible for caring for the children in our Children’s Ministry and promoting their social, emotional, spiritual, and physical development. Meeting daily needs, providing educational support, and creating a fun and supportive learning environment are integral pieces of this position. Director of Thrift Store Operations
The Director of Thrift Store Operations is a full-time position with benefits. The Director leads the stewardship efforts surrounding donated goods and transforms items not used within the ministry into sales dollars that help fund programs for the homeless and those in need. The Director must lead in a Christ-centered way and provide encouragement and guidance to the staff, volunteers, and program guests, directing operations toward achieving the annual goals of the Thrift Store Ministry Plan. The Director oversees sales, donations of merchandise, promotion of the store in the community, and internal fiscal controls. The Director is a member of the Wheeler Mission Ministries’ Leadership Team. We are seeking dynamic candidates who possess the spiritual gifts of leadership, discernment, and encouragement. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Management, or a related field is preferred, along with relevant management and supervision experience. Must have scheduling flexibility to work some evenings (typically done by 7:30) and some Saturdays. Proficiency with point of sale software and registers, as well as Microsoft Windows and Office products required. The Maintenance Assistant is a full-time position with benefits. Applicants must have a basic understanding of building maintenance, including general knowledge and experience with plumbing, electrical systems, carpentry, HVAC, drywall hanging, finishing and repair; also professional experience using and applying both latex and oil base interior and exterior paints. Applicants must have professional experience working with basic hand and power tools applicable to professional facility construction, renovation, and maintenance. Applicants must have three years of professional facility maintenance experience in all phases of building and facility maintenance. Construction certifications and licenses a plus. Applicants must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including being available for emergency call-ins on a rotating basis, some weekends, and holidays. Applicants must be willing and able to work in adverse weather conditions, confined space, and heights. Applicant must possess a valid driver’s license. Driving record cannot include a history of accidents, traffic citations, DUI, or Driving While Suspended convictions and must pass an insurance carrier screening. Applicants must have a Christian heart, excellent attitude and the ability to work independently or as part of the facility maintenance department team. Applicants must have good computer skills and experience using Outlook and other Microsoft Office programs.
