The first doorway is only the beginning

In under a minute, here is what Wheeler Mission actually is. Not just a place to get through the night, but the starting point of a pathway toward lasting change. This segment was produced as part of the Empowered with Meg Ryan series.

A meal. A bed. A safe place to be. For many of the people who come to Wheeler Mission, that is where everything begins, and it is the reason our doors stay open every day of the year.

What follows is what most people never see. Residential services, recovery support, case management, job readiness, and a community walking alongside someone long after the crisis has passed. That is the difference between getting someone through a night and helping someone build a life.

Wheeler Mission serves men, women, and children in Indianapolis, Bloomington, and the surrounding communities at no cost. We are privately funded and receive no government funding. We are Christ-centered, and we serve everyone who comes to us.

Every door leads to lives changed.
