Handcrafted, soy blend candles made with hope
A Social Enterprise of Wheeler Mission
When you purchase a carefully handcrafted candle from Restored Creations, you help encourage women in our long-term programs in their journey to healing.
Restored Creations is a social enterprise that helps women in many ways, by:
- Teaching transferable job skills and life skills
- Growing confidence in obtaining and maintaining supportive employment
- Uncovering each woman’s unique God-given abilities
Every woman in our long-term programs works weekly shifts at Restored Creations. They are responsible for every step of the candle-making process, including placing wicks, pouring wax, choosing new scents, making our signature flowers, packaging, shipping, and more.
As a social enterprise of Wheeler Mission, Restored Creations is a therapeutic work community designed to grow transferable life skills in our guests, promoting their lasting success in Christ. And our vision is to see each woman we serve be equipped, empowered, and confidently thriving in her unique God given abilities.

Why a social enterprise?
Employment is critical for long-term healing from factors that lead to struggles with homelessness and addiction. Restored Creations was developed in 2015 as a way for women in our recovery program to develop the skills needed to obtain employment.

Through the generosity of Barnes & Thornburg, a large Indianapolis-based law firm, Restored Creations received funds to purchase equipment and supplies to get started. They also provided business expertise to help guide the Restored Creations team.
While Restored Creations has moved several times over the years, it is currently located in the newly renovated basement of our Center for Women & Children. This larger space has multiple rooms to comfortably accommodate the production process.
Since its inception in 2015, Restored Creations has seen tremendous growth. Though it was originally designed as part of our Higher Ground Addiction Recovery and Discipleship Program, all guests in our long-term programs can now benefit from the training and development that Restored Creations offers. May God continue to bless this work in the years to come!

Tanya’s Story
I thank God for second chances because sometimes it takes more than once to get it right. This isn’t my first time in the Higher Ground program at Wheeler. Rebellion, selfishness, and fear were my biggest stumbling blocks on my road to recovery. Going back to my addiction after experiencing God’s love was the most tormenting feeling. It took being stripped of everything I thought made me who I was, to bring me to a place of complete surrender. Today, it is my personal relationship with God that is restoring me. He continues to reveal His mercies daily in my relationships with my husband and family. My love for Jesus and desire to serve Him in whatever role He leads me to is what makes this time around so different. God has given me a hope for a future I thought I never deserved or thought I could have.
Francine’s Story
I was very selfish, prideful, and angry before I came to Christ. I didn’t know how to fit in with other people because my life was all about me and what I wanted. I always had a drink in my hand from the time I woke up until the time I went to bed. I didn’t like who I was and I thought my life should have been different. When I came to know and accept Christ as my Lord and Savior, I found out who I was. I want to thank Wheeler Mission Ministries for helping me become the Godly woman that I am today.
Tina Marie’s Story
Before entering Wheeler Mission’s Higher Ground program, my life had been completely unmanageable through my addiction. My hopes, my dreams, and my self-esteem as a woman had all been taken from the horrors of addiction. The only thing left for me to lose was my life, and even that had been so close at times. I had been raped, robbed, and brought through the pits of Hell from the use of crack cocaine. As a little girl I never dreamed that this would be my life. So at the age of 43, I found God once again after this disease tried to destroy me. God brought me to my knees to show me that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. I am now the beautiful woman, loving mother, and child of God whom I was created to be.
Yvonne’s Story
When I came to Wheeler Mission and entered the Higher Ground program, I was broken, lost, fearful, and in bondage. Outwardly, I wore a mask that covered up my fears, insecurities, trauma, abandonment, and addiction. I lived almost 60 years behind that ever-changing mask. I did not have a higher power. My goal was to find myself and find God. The addiction was just a symptom. A blessing on this journey has been serving God in Restored Creations. This has allowed me to sharpen my skills, feel passion in the purpose, and has given me a voice—empowerment. As I enter the next season of my journey, I carry God’s love, true beliefs, self-worth, a joyful heart, and the ability to serve God and others on their journey. A true Genesis, a new beginning.
