Wheeler employs strong Christian leaders who want to make a difference in their community. Our employees serve in many unique ways to help us achieve our mission and bring Christ’s love to those in need. This includes preparing and serving food to our guests, counseling people through addiction recovery, developing relationships with donors and volunteers, maintaining Wheeler’s facilities, and many other tasks that allow us to continue pursuing God’s work.
While Wheeler employees take care of others in our community, Wheeler works to take care of our employees so that they can best carry out their roles and missions. All full-time employees at Wheeler Mission are eligible for our comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, life insurance, employer contributions to a 403(b) retirement plan, and paid sick, vacation, and holiday time off. Part-time employees are also eligible for paid vacation hours and employer contributions to their 403(b) as part of their employment benefits at Wheeler.
Internships: A job with a mission
Wheeler offers a limited amount of internships for undergraduate and graduate studies each Fall, Spring, and Summer semester. Please read the information below and pray about working to serve people experiencing homelessness in Indianapolis. If you feel led, click the Internship Application link below to apply. Send your completed application, as well as syllabus or other internship criteria, to Info@WheelerMission.org.
Once all information is received, it will be sent to the appropriate Wheeler director for further review. All prospective Wheeler Mission interns must sign and agree with our Statement of Faith.
Internships may be available for social work, addiction recovery, development, and more. For Master’s level social work or addiction recovery internships, we are only able to provide Masters of Social Work (MSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), and Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor (LCAC) supervision at this time.
