Disque Foundation Empowers Wheeler Staff to Save Lives with Free CPR Training

Health and homelessness typically don’t coincide. Living in places not meant for habitation and having little access to personal hygiene products, healthy food, drinking water, vaccinations, and general health care makes the homeless population very susceptible to diminishing health conditions. A leading cause of emergencies is cardiac arrest due to poor heart health.

The Empowerment Team at DisqueFoundation.org has an ongoing mission to empower everyone to save a life with proper health care training and education. On August 25th, they provided life-saving education to the staff at Wheeler Mission in Indianapolis, demonstrating how to perform chest compressions, use an AED and provide relief for common minor and major emergencies outside of a hospital setting.

Because cardiac arrest and homelessness go hand and hand, the Disque Foundation has made it a priority to focus on helping the homeless in their local communities with free CPR, AED & First Aid training to the staff at multiple organizations whose purpose is to serve the underserved. This contribution literally can prevent unnecessary deaths.

The Empowerment Team and the Disque Foundation has made it their mission to train a million people to save a life by year 2020. Wheeler is most grateful for their services!
